Jesse

Jesse grew up immersed in music. His father, a singer and bassist, turned him on to the “Greats” of rock (Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Uriah Heep, The Doors, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc…).
“We didn’t have a television when I was a kid. We just sat around listening to records. My dad would sing, and I would just dance around…He bought my first instrument…one of those toy pianos with the colored keys, when I was three or four. I loved to play along with songs.”
Jesse’s classic rock roots inspired him to pick up the guitar when he was thirteen, which he has played ever since. The journey has taken him through 90’s grunge, metal, rock, blues, jazz and country (yes country…unfortunately). If it involves six strings – or sometimes twelve -- he’s probably played it. Jesse currently plays in the band Attic Dreams.
Jesse is a graduate of Kent State University, with a degree in electronic media production. He has spent time working in various studios, and live sound applications, throughout Northeast Ohio and is obsessed with all things audio.
Jesse loves progressive rock. His favorite bands are Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, early Genesis, and the pinnacle of modern progressive…The Mars Volta. He also follows bands like Wolfmother, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Raconteurs; as well as, all the 90’s music he grew up with.
Jesse enjoys potentially suicidal adventure sports, primarily backpacking, mountain climbing and kayaking. He also spends time with his fiancé, of six years, and is happy she puts up with his impulsive insanity.
Jesse started working at 92.3 K-Rock in August of 2007. Before being hired, he interned with the 98.5 WNCX morning show and the CBS Radio Engineering Department.
“I never planned on working in radio… It just sort of happened. I grew up listening to Cleveland rock radio, and it’s awesome to be at K-Rock; the greatest rock radio station in Cleveland…and I’m not just saying that…I love it!” |
